Apply for the Real Estate Broker Program

Real Estate Broker Program

1. Learn the Requirements for Registered Real Estate Brokers in Ontario

Review all the RECO requirements for becoming a real estate broker in Ontario.

2. Meet the Real Estate Broker Program Eligibility Requirements

In order to be admitted to the Broker Program, learners must:

  • Be registered as a salesperson with RECO and employed as a salesperson for at least 24 of the 36 months immediately preceding the date of the application.
  • Have successfully completed the Real Estate Salesperson Program with an authorized training provider.

Applicants who completed the Salesperson Program with the Ontario Real Estate Association (OREA) College must provide proof of completion of the Real Estate Law and Commercial Transactions courses. Unfortunately, at this time, we are unable to accept broker applications from learners who have not yet completed those courses.

Applicants who completed their salesperson training outside of Ontario will need to have successfully completed RECO’s Interprovincial Challenge Exam.

3. Understand the Program’s Learning Path

Understand what courses you need and how they fit together by reviewing the Broker program’s learning path. This will help you plan your learning schedule.
