When applying online to the Real Estate Salesperson Program, you will be asked to upload documentation to prove your academic and language proficiency.
Academic eligibility may be demonstrated by any one of the following:
- Transcripts showing completion of secondary education in Canada.
- Transcripts showing completion of secondary education in English in a country other than Canada where English is the principal language. See full list
- NOTE: Applicants with international credentials from a country not on this list must provide proof of equivalent credentials through an assessment service such as World Education Services (WES) or International Credential Assessment Service of Canada (ICAS).
- Transcripts showing completion of the General Education Diploma (GED) or the Canadian Adult Education Credential (CAEC).
- Transcripts showing acceptable post-secondary equivalent credentials.
Applicants who do not meet the specified academic admissions requirements may be considered for entry through an alternative admissions process at Algonquin College. Please contact us directly at realestate@algonquincollege.com with “Alternative Admissions Process Request” in the subject line to start this process.
Adequate English proficiency may be demonstrated by any one of the following:
1. Previous Education
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma (with English Grade 12 U, C, M completion)
- Completed secondary education in English in a country other than Canada where English is the primary/official language. This must include passing a grade 12 English course (not ESL/EFL)*
- Completed at least one academic year of recognized, full-time post-secondary education (not language training) in English in Canada or in another country where English is the primary/official language* Recognized English-speaking countries
- Graduated from a Canadian university or public college ESL Pathway Program or English for Academic Purposes (EAP) Certificate Program
*Applicants with international credentials must provide proof of equivalent credentials through an assessment service such as World Education Services (WES) or ICAS Canada.
2. Equivalent Credential
- General Educational Development (GED) certificate or a Canadian Adult Education Credential (CAEC) completed in English
3. Standardized English Language Proficiency Test
