Real Estate Salesperson Program

1. Learn the Requirements for Registered Real Estate Agents in Ontario

Review all the RECO requirements for becoming a real estate agent in Ontario.

Note: These requirements don’t necessarily prevent you from enrolling in our courses, but you will need to meet the criteria when registering with RECO after completing the Pre-registration Phase of the program.

2. Understand the Program’s Learning Path

Understand what courses you need and how they fit together by reviewing the program’s learning path. This will help you plan your learning schedule.

3. Read the Program Directives

Make sure you’re familiar with the Algonquin College Real Estate Program Directives before applying.

4. Gather What You Need

Before you begin your application, make sure you have the following:

  • New Students: Academic documents showing your high school education and/or English language proficiency. See acceptable documents
  • Transfer Students: Contact your current training provider to obtain a transcript of completed courses and exams.
  • Students with an Education Equivalency Decision (EEA): Submit your EEA decision letter along with your application. You must also include the acceptable documents required for new students to demonstrate that you meet the current program’s admission requirements.
  • $125 non-refundable application fee (accepted payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, Visa Debit, Mastercard Debit, Google Pay, Apple Pay) is required by all applicants.

5. Create Your Account with Algonquin College as your Training Provider

New Students: Create your RECO account via the RECO MyWeb portal. Once logged in, click the Setup button which will automatically redirect you to the Algonquin College website and next steps. Here, you will be prompted to create your Algonquin College Real Estate Training account and authenticate your email address. You will have successfully completed Step 5 when you have both a RECO ID account and an Algonquin College account.

Transfer Students and students with an EEA decision letter who do not have a RECO ID:   You will need to sign up with RECO’s MyWeb. Once logged in, go to your Dashboard and select Registration Education, then select Algonquin College.
